Nebo District hired me to teach second grade at East Meadows in Spanish Fork. I absolutely loved it! This is my fabulous team - Amberly Lee, Kristy Alger, and Tracy Warenski. We had so much fun together, going to work was a happy thing!
Our cozy little duplex nestled near the bottom of the mountains. It's a great spot.
Good times. Our side of the duplex had hundreds of holes in the walls from random pics students had hung all over. So we filled in all the holes, painted redid the carpet and baseboards, repainted the outside of the house. Wow, so much work. We were in huge mess for a long time. It was really rewarding when it was all done. We're so grateful to Marc and Paka for helping us. Gems.
After searching for what seemed like forever, we decided to buy an investment property, a duplex close to BYU campus. Our great friends, Marc and Paka, own several and so are experts - they helped us so much to renovate and get settled. This shows the great fun job of tearing out the carpet and all the tiny staples:)
I got to serve with these amazing young women while in the Grandview 2nd ward. We really enjoyed this ward, the short time we were here anyway. Rob was called as a ward missionary and had a blast. There was actually a lot of work to do in that area.
This is our cute tiny house we rented when we first got to Provo. We lived here while looking for a home.
Rob the trucker tells about our enormous rideto Utah. We packed up and piled into our Pensky headed to Rob's new job in the Spanish Dept.at BYU.
The young women and fellow leaders were a huge part of my life in Austin. It was a tremendous experience to learn and serve with them. Here, we're at one of the spiffy firesides at Bishop Burgener's. Love these gals!!
Aaahh!! Livin' the good life. Kickin' back with a good ol' coconut surrounded by attractive men. We took a boat out to an island called Isla Mujeras and rented a moped to drive around the island. It was a great time.
If you look close you can see the whale shark right next to Rob. We drove 2 hours out into the middle of the ocean until we spotted a few, in pairs with the guide we sat on the side of the boat until the shark swam right past, then we jumped in with our snorkels on and watched it as we swam right beside it. It was absolutely fascinating!
While in Austin, I taught at Cook Elementary. It was tough but rewarding and I met many incredible people. This is me with my third grade team. Love them!
Congrats Rob! After a long road of pure intellect, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. We loved Austin and still miss our friends there. Go Longhorns (and Rudy's)!!!
Mmmm, Rudy's Barbeque. Pure Texas right there. Don't worry we're the ones with the water cups:) We are devouring some juicy BBQ with Rob's fellow UT Ph.D. students. Incredible people - Rob had a great time with them.
